Formido Fringilli
The Blue Sharpbeak is an avian-like medium predator residing within Fading Breath’s grasslands. A viciously hooked beak is the animal’s namesake, used for tearing and stabbing prey.
Anatomy
The Sharpbeak’s anatomy is made for power. It is stronger than most of the animals it shares the grasslands with, and while its bulk is useful for wrestling prey to the ground, speed lets it down. As such, it relies on hunting slower animals, or the weakened and old.
It’s a mostly solitary animal, being territorial against other Sharpbeaks. To this end, dark blue feathers decorate its plumage for intimidation, and during the Summer for courtship displays.
A bright blue patch of feathers resides underneath its neck, which it can fluff up for display.
Diet
Being a Predator, the Sharpbeak will seek out other animals or scavenge carcasses for its meals. If it goes hunting, it will generally go for larger, slower animals – being too slow itself to catch up to more spritely creatures.
Environment
Sharpbeaks inhabit the grasslands of Fading Breath, where grass spreads as far as the eye can see, with no shrubs to break the repetition. This paired with the sharp eyesight of the predator generally means it can always see its chosen prey.
